On a street in Berlin, the Egyptian couple Sara and Tarek meet to view a flat. Sara is 10 weeks pregnant, but when Tarek talks about marriage plans Sara breaks the news; she already had an abortion.
The short film attempts to portray a cathartic moment in the life of a couple when they are faced with an unexpected pregnancy. And the pressure of the moment that drives one to lie and the other to attack. The Egyptian couple who left their country in hope of a different life that is not dictated by the control of the state or society, find out that they both have internalized the dichotomies they often struggled with. He is trying to be free of patriarchal beliefs and values he’s lived with all his life, and she is struggling to release her fear of being entrapped by yet another Egyptian man.

A 5 minute reflection of how society perceives women through the journey of a girl as she walks down one of Cairo's streets and how she responds to harassment and commentaries thrown at her by the people. The film was produced by Misr International Film company in collaboration with the British council and the British embassy, as part of ‘Women in new Egypt’ project.

The BuSSy project - 2007- 2020

BuSSy is a performing arts project that documents and gives voice to censored untold stories about gender in different communities in Egypt.
As BuSSy's artistic director Sondos facilitated storytelling workshops, documented testimonies, wrote scripts, and directed the performances. She was also worked in planning, budgeting, marketing and collaborating with other partners.
